Event Marketing Links

Event Marketing Links allow you to create custom links that can be tied to specific marketing activities and used to track clicks and conversions to completed registrations.

We have created a few Event Marketing Links automatically to help get you started, but you can also create your own.

Creating your own

  1. Log in to your dashboard

  2. Click the Event Marketing Links link on the left sidebar

  3. Choose your Event from the drop down menu

  4. Click the Add New Link button

  5. Create a name for your link

  6. Create a link tag for your event. The link tag is appended to the end of the URL, so you aren't able to use special characters or spaces. You also cannot edit link tags after they're created, so double check this is exactly how you want it before saving.

  7. Choose whether or not you'd like to include a logo. Choosing Yes will create a linked imATHLETE logo that directs to your registration page.

  8. Click Save

Once the marketing links are set up, use those custom links in your marketing campaigns and come back later to track clicks and conversions.

Here's what that process looks like:

Reporting + Tracking

Once you've used your Event Marketing Links in your marketing campaigns, we'll start tracking clicks and registrations for you. You can view a quick overview of these by clicking the Event Marketing Links link on your dashboard and selecting your event. Clicks and registrations are displayed next to each link.

Click the marketing report link for a report with more detailed information. This is what the quick overview might look like for your custom links:

Combine with an Invitation Code
With this ability, you can add an invitation code to an Event Marketing Link to a) open up a hidden registration class, and b) see how many people sign up with that particular link.

Here's how you can do that:

  1. Create your invitation code

  2. Create your event marketing link (see above)

  3. Add  /Invite=[Invitation Code] to the end of your marketing link, replacing [Invitation Code] with your actual invitation code

Example:

  1. Invitation code: HIDDENGEM

  2. Event Marketing Link: http://www.imathlete.com/events/bestevent/register/fsource=Facebook

  3. Event Marketing Link with Invitation Code: http://www.imathlete.com/events/bestevent/register/fsource=Facebook/Invite=HIDDENGEM

That's it!

Now you are an invitation-wielding, conversion-tracking pro!
