Ready to set up your first event but don't know where to start? You’re in luck! We're here to guide you through the process of setting up registration for your first event. Once that’s set up, check out the end of the article for resources to help you manage your registrations.
Signing up for an imATHLETE account
First thing’s first, if you haven’t already signed up for an imATHLETE Event Organizer/ Director account, you’ll need to do that. Keep in mind that if you already have an athlete account, you will need to use a different email address. Here's how to sign up:
- Go to http://www.imathlete.com and click the green Sign Up button at the top of the page
- Select the option for Event Organizer / Event Director
- Fill in your information and click Join Now!
- Enter your company information and click Save & Continue
- Set your default company policies and click Save & Continue. Don't worry - you can change these defaults later and/or override them at the event level.
- You should see a pop-up asking if you'd like to create your first event now, click Yes.
Creating your event
If you clicked Yes, you'll be taken right in to your Event Setup. If you selected No, and you are now ready to create your event, just click the Events link on the left side of your Dashboard then click Create Event.
Once you've started the process for creating your event, we will walk you through each step of the process, page by page. Just fill in the required information, set things up as you like, and click Save & Continue at the bottom of each page.
Not sure what something means? Look for a red Tell me more! link at the top of each page. Click the link for an article with detailed information about the options available on that particular page.

Editing your Event Setup
You can edit nearly anything you set up during Event Setup later. From your Dashboard (just click the Dashboard tab at the top of the page), find the Event Summary box and click the red edit link to the right of your event name. You'll be transported back into Event Setup, where you can make your changes.

Managing your event
Congratulations on setting up registration for your event! Once you've finished your celebratory happy dance, you're probably wondering, "Now what?" Well, now you get to do the fun stuff like sell merchandise, market your event, create discount codes and manage your participants.
