Did you know that you can make more money and reduce your workload just by letting people manage their registration themselves? Yes, I said you can make more money. So even if you think you don't want a transfer policy or deferral policy or any of the other stuff, I highly recommend you dig in a little deeper and keep an open mind! Participants like options and I'm sure you like more money.
Here's how to get to the page where you set your policies:
You can have event cancellation coverage, but instead of paying for it every year, we pay you! (full info here)
Give discount codes to people who cancel to encourage them to sign up for another event (and pay you more money)
Allow participants to switch out of this race and defer to either next year's event or another one of your events - all while generating more revenue for you.
If your event sells out, you can set up an automated waitlist. Whenever somebody cancels, the next person on the waitlist automatically moves over. Your event remains sold out and you make even more money.
Believe it or not, certain people still want to send in a check. I know, I don't get it either. Anyhoo, selecting mail-in registration gives people an option of mailing a check to imATHLETE. As far as you're concerned, you make just as much money as an online registration, and imATHLETE does all the manual labor.
Let people edit their registration. They can only edit non-critical questions. For instance, they can't change their name or transfer in any way.
A great way to stop bandits from racing is to allow people to transfer their registration to a friend. In the process, you make even more money.
Lets people move from one race to another (e.g. half marathon to 10k) without ever contacting you at all. And guess what, it's set up to generate even more revenue for you!
